Week of Septmeber 15, 2008

During September 20-21, I had the opportunity to return as a volunteer at the Center for Courageous Kids. As always, the experience was gratifying and rewarding. It is so awesome to escape reality and attempt to make a difference in the lives of children who are often forgotten by mass society. It was spina bifida week, which was a group of children, who I had never worked with before. Through arts and crafts, I formed friendships with many of the children at camp and their families. Camp was as equally rewarding for the families, as the children themselves. Tears flowed as families packed their belongings to head home. I look forward to returning to the center very soon.
